Background information:

Frederick^9 Miller Van Wicklen, Jr.

Michael Wolfe noted in email correspondence that his father, Frederick^9 and mother, Antoinette Weston, were not married. Michael's mother made up the name WOLFE as she liked the writings of Thomas Wolfe. (On the birth certificate, she put the father's name as Peter Andrew Wolfe from Peter and the Wolf.) There was of necessity a clean cut separation from families as Antoinette as a mathematician and physicist in the Reeves REAC (first Navy research computer doing inertial guidance systems for America's first rockets) had the highest military security clearance while Frederick^9 was the financial editor of TASS, the Russian news and information agency. Antoinette later did computer work for the Atomic Energy Commission.
