(Frederick^4, Evert^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes) was b. 16 October 1755 in Newtown, L.I., NY and is the son of Frederick and Margretta (Springsteen) Van Wicklen. David died 28 April 1832 (age 77) and is buried St. James Ep.Yard, Newtown. Harry Macy claims that David settled in Newtown, L.I. and that David and his descendents adopted the surname "Van Wickel." David married Eunice Livesay (b. 22 July 1761) abt. 1786, Newtown. She died 8 October 1843 in her 83rd year and is buried next to her husband. Limited information on the Van Wickel family is available on the IGI (familysearch.com).

Children: David^6 Van Wickel, Jr. (b. 29 March 1787; Newtown, L.I., NY). He m. Dorothy Leverich MacDonough 24 April 1817. He died 9 May 1855. Mary^6 Van Wickel (b. 11 August 1789; Newtown, LI). She m. a Richard Leverich; Elizabeth^6 Van Wickel (b. 10 February 1792; Newtown, LI). She m. George T. Rapelje on 4 January 1827. She died 13 December 1885; Margaret^6 Van Wickel (b. 12 July 1794 Newtown and bap. 14 September 1794; Grace Church, Jamaica). She m. William Wright and the minister was Rev. Johnson. She died 7 July 1875 at age 81; Ann^6 Van Wickel (b. 25 February 1797; Newtown, LI). She m. James T. Smith on 28 April 1823, Newtown (minister was Rev. Johnson); William^6 Van Wickel (b. 5 November 1799, Newtown, LI)--unmarried. He committed suicide, January 1824; Jane^6 Boice Van Wickel (b. 21 September 1802; Newtown, LI)--unmarried. She died 8 October 1880 at 78 y, 18 d.

NYGBR, Vol. 143, No. 3 (July 2003) pp. 193-3 - David Van Wickel witnesses will of Abraham Brinkerhoff. Abraham Brinkerhoff, Sr. of Newtown, Queens County, yeoman, left a will dated 27 June 1780, proved 7 October 1780 mentioning wife Elizabeth, nephew Abraham Brinkerhoff Rapalye, son of sister Elizabeth; nephew Abraham Polhemus, son of sister Anne; children of sister Anne Polhemus: Abraham, Allette, Theodorus, Charity, Jacob and George Polhemus; children of sister Elizabeth Rapalye: Jeromus, Catharine, Abraham Brinkerhoff, Allette and Richard Rapalye; Hendrick Brinkerhoff, son of sister Sarah; and children of sister Polly Bloodgood: Abraham, Allette and Elizabeth Bloodgood. Executors were to be cousins Samuel Waldron, Isaac Brinkerhoff and George Brinkerhoff, Jr. and "my executors are to pay to my sister Katharine an equal share." Witnesses were Elnathan Leverick, David Van Wickel, and Mary Bloodgood.
